Ann Fudge was born in Washington, D.C. in 1951 and she credits the riots the city experienced after the assasination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as giving her the determination to succeed against the odds. After high school she attended Simmons College and Harvard Business School marrying Rich Fudge, her husband of more 35 years, along the way.
Ms. Fudge is the former chairman and CEO of Young & Rubicam. She also held leadership positions at General Mills and Kraft. Here she talks with the Washington Post's Steven Pearlstein about the skepticism as well as opportunity you face as a CEO without a history in the industry.
